CAUSE A RIOT are a punk/melodic hardcore band from Finland. The band was formed 2011 in Järvenpää by friends with only knowing DIY and having too much time on their hands. The year 2026 marks the 15th anniversary for them. Nowadays CAR is a 5-piece band (Simo, Ari, Olli, Petri), as Matti joined the band as a touring bassist.

Their style borrows from the 90’s and 00’s hardcore with one leg over the fence on the more melodic side of the yard. They are said to have similarities with ENDSTAND, AS FRIENDS RUST, STRIKE ANYWHERE and BAD RELIGION.

Cause A Riot have released 2 albums and a bunch of EP’s while touring all over Europe and in the US East-coast along the way – recently playing in London and the Manchester Punk fest. They’re releasing their third album called “III” in the fall of 2026 with songs dealing with issues such as animal rights, inequality and wars.
